Fresh meal kit e-retailer Plated.com added two executives and one board member to its plate with plans to scale business.
Plated, No. 567 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 1000 Guide, named John Kuehn as chief operating officer and Prasad Pola as senior vice president of engineering.
Prior to Plated, Kuehn was chief operating officer at Provide Commerce, where he helped scale the business from a one-brand e-commerce company with $150 million in revenue to 10 brands and $600 million in revenue over a 10-year span. At Plated, Kuehn will scale the supply chain and help run operations more efficiently, the company says.
Pola has held lead technology roles at Provide Commerce, Tommy Hilfiger Corp. and Amazon.com Inc. subsidiary Quidsi Inc. Pola will work on Plated’s next phase of digital and mobile platforms, though the company did not detail its plans.
“We are confident [the new executives] can continue to quickly scale the business while building a proprietary supply chain, and operations and technical platforms that deliver an exceptional and personalized dinner experience for our users,” said Josh Hix, CEO and co-founder of Plated.
The company also added Dave Allen to its board of directors. Allen had been a senior operating executive at Del Monte Foods, Frito-Lay, U.S. Foods and Findus.
In July 2015, co-founder Nick Taranto said Plated grew sales 400% year over year. To date, Plated has raised $56.4 million in funding.
