A new chief marketing officer joins HSN

HSN Inc. today named John Aylward executive vice president and chief marketing officer for TV, mobile and web retailer HSN, where he will develop the brand and oversee marketing across the retailer’s sales channels and the creative team.
“I am excited to welcome John to the HSN team,” said Bill Brand, president of HSN and chief marketing officer for parent company HSN Inc., No. 25 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500 Guide. “He is a proven talent with a strong record of achievement across a wide range of consumer-facing brands. His background will help us build on the momentum we achieved last year, which included record sales and customer growth.”
Aylward most recently worked as senior vice president and head of marketing, brand engagement and media for DSW, No. 133 in the Top 500 Guide, which followed two years as VP of marketing for Starbucks’ tea division Teavana, according to HSN.
“Everyone in retail today is impressed by the transformational success taking place at HSN,” Aylward said in a statement. “I am looking forward to working with Bill Brand and his team to help accelerate customer engagement, sales and overall brand esteem across all of HSN’s platforms.”
HSN reported 2014 e-commerce sales of $975.58 million, up 14.0% from $855.44 million in 2013. Parent HSN Inc. reported net sales of $3.59 billion in 2014, and e-commerce sales of $1.72 billion.
