The world’s largest e-commerce conference is expanding, increasing its speaker roster by 25% over last year, including more international content than ever before and for the first time featuring an entire day of sessions aimed at nonprofit organizations.

220 experts will present during 120 conference sessions at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition 2013, June 4-7 at the McCormick Place West exhibition center in Chicago. The speaker list is more diverse than ever, reflecting the growing role of web marketing and commerce for organizations of all types, says Jack Love, CEO of Vertical Web Media, publisher of Internet Retailer magazine, whose editors create the agenda for IRCE.

“No matter how large their online businesses are or what segment of the e-commerce spectrum they represent, all companies and organizations with a web presence will find valuable content offered on each of the four days of IRCE 2013,” Love says. He predicts 9,500 will attend IRCE 2013, better than 10% growth from the 8,600 who came to IRCE 2012, which set a record for attendance at an e-commerce event.

The theme of IRCE 2013 is “Breaking Barriers: Toward a New Retail Economy.” Topping the IRCE speaker list is former vice president and Internet entrepreneur Al Gore, a member of the board of directors at Apple Inc. and a strategic advisor to Google Inc. Gore will speak on “The Global View: The Internet, business and the worldwide opportunity.”

Also bringing a global perspective will be Keynote Speaker Hiroshi Mikitani, chairman and CEO of Rakuten, Japan’s leading e-commerce company, which in recent years has bought up major e-retail companies around the world, including in the U.S., and invested in such rising Internet stars as the Pinterest social network. Day Two Keynote Speaker will be Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSN Inc., who will talk about how HSN broke down barriers to success within its organization and how it is removing the barriers between HSN sellers and customers. A June 5 session track on global e-commerce will feature a presentation by Wendy Jones, vice president of geographic expansion and cross-border trade at eBay Inc.

New this year at IRCE will be a focus on how nonprofit organizations sell products and raise money on the web. A full-day workshop for nonprofits on June 4 will feature presentations by Paull Young, director of digital engagement and fundraising at charity:water; Patricia Goldman, vice president and chief marketing officer at the March of Dimes; Larry Becker of the University of Virginia; Carie Lewis, director of emerging media, Humane Society of the U.S; and Sara Thomas, senior manager, digital marketing, The Ocean Conservancy.

The IRCE agenda is designed to address the concerns of e-commerce companies of all kinds and sizes, including retail chains, web-only retailers, consumer brand manufacturers and retailers that sell through online marketplaces like eBay and Amazon. In fact, a workshop June 4 entitled “Amazon and Me” will provide an entire day’s worth of sessions on how to collaborate with, and compete against, Inc., No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Among the speakers representing retail chains at IRCE 2013 will be Mondy Beller, vice president of e-commerce at Pacific Sunwear; Jasbir Patel, general merchandise manager at Walgreens; and Jason LaRose, senior vice president of e-commerce at Express.

Representing web-only merchants will be, among others, Niraj Shah, CEO of Wayfair; Jon Barker, chief operating officer of Hayneedle; and Jason Falls, vice president of digital strategy at CafePress.

Speakers from consumer goods manufacturers that sell online will include Michael Hines, vice president of e-commerce technology at Jones Group; David Fudge, marketing director at Bonobos; and Lissa Cupp, vice president of e-commerce at Acco Brands.

Online marketplaces and portals will be represented by such speakers as David Katz, vice president and general manager of consumer mobile at Groupon; Jules Pieri, CEO of Daily Grommet; and Jones of eBay.
