Fanatics hires a Ticketmaster veteran for a newly created role

Collegiate and professional sports apparel manufacturer and online retailer Fanatics Inc. is hoping a ticketing industry veteran is its big ticket to omnichannel sales growth.

Fanatics, No. 38 in the Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide, hired Cole Gahagan to be its first chief commercial officer. In the role, Gahagan will oversee a new division that will grow business in Fanatics’ in-venue retail locations, which Fanatics owns and operates at dozens of stadiums across the country, as well as on its e-commerce sites.

Gahagan had spent the previous nearly six years at Ticketmaster, most recently working as the company’s chief revenue officer, where he oversaw the company’s relationships with professional sports teams throughout North America. He has also held management-level roles with online ticketing agencies Vertix and

Fanatics, which sold an Internet Retailer-estimated $1.265 billion online last year, operates more than 300 online stores in addition to its own flagship
