Under Armour’s head of e-commerce, Jason LaRose, has been promoted to president of North America for the athletic apparel manufacturer, No. 100 in the 2016 Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
LaRose, who joined Under Armour in October 2013 as senior vice president of e-commerce, replaces Matthew Mirchin, UnderArmour said Friday. Mirchin will remain with the company as an adviser.
According to Top500Guide.com, in the two years that LaRose has overseen Under Armour’s e-commerce, online sales have grown by 71.6% to an Internet Retailer-estimated $377.5 million, up from $220 million in 2013.
Prior to joining Under Armour, LaRose spent two years as senior vice president of e-commerce at apparel retailer Express Inc. (No. 99) and almost five years as a vice president at Sears Holdings Corp. (No. 14).
"Since joining Under Armour, Jason has been a rising star, establishing our e-commerce business globally," Under Armour chief revenue officer Charlie Maurath said.
Under Armour has not yet named a replacement to fill LaRose’s e-commerce position. Under Armour said LaRose will oversee e-commerce in the interim until that happens. For the second quarter ended June 30, Under Armour reported year-over-year online sales growth of 27.9%.
