Sports apparel retailer Fanatics hires an Oakley executive

E-retailer Fanatics Inc. has hired Raphael Peck as president, Fanatics Apparel. Fanatics is No. 43 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide and sells licensed sports merchandise.
Peck comes from Oakley Inc., where he most recently worked as chief merchandise officer overseeing apparel, footwear and accessories, according to his LinkedIn profile. Oakley is operated by Luxottica Group S.p.A., No. 136 in the Top 500. Oakley, probably best known for its sunglasses, hired Peck in February 2010 as a global vice president. Before that he worked for Under Armour Inc. (No. 143) and Adidas (No. 224.).
At Fanatics, Peck reports to CEO Alan Trager and will oversee “all aspects of product creation” including customization.
“We are pleased and excited about the future for Fanatics by bringing on a proven leader in Raphael to guide us to the next level in merchandising,” says Trager. “Raphael brings winning experience from Adidas, Under Armour and most recently Oakley. We look forward to tapping into his passion and drive for sports in order to elevate the fan experience.”
Earlier this year, Fanatics hired former National Football League executive Gary Gertzog as executive vice president of business affairs.
Fanatics in 2012 had web sales of $764.0 million, up 45.5% from the previous year, according to the Top 500.
