Monica Woo, who was the chief marketing officer for the Sears brand, has left Sears Holdings Corp. to join mobile-focused financial services platform Mozido LLC. Woo joined Sears in August and departed in January, a spokesman for Sears says. Mozido announced the appointment this week.
Imran Jooma, Sears Holdings’ senior vice president and president of online, marketing, pricing and financial services, is leading marketing for the Sears and Kmart brands while the division looks at internal and external candidates to replace Woo, the spokesman says.
Woo came to Sears with experience gained from roles at a handful of top e-commerce companies. She was chief marketing officer of Nutrisystem Inc., No. 63 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide, and FreshDirect LLC, No. 75. She also was a top manager at 1-800-Flowers.com, No. 45. Sears is No. 7. Woo also worked in the financial services industry through jobs at Deutsche Bank and Citibank.
Woo joins Mozido as executive vice president, global chief marketing and strategy officer. Mozido’s technology platform enables consumers who don’t have traditional bank accounts to access financial services through their mobile phones.
