OfficeMax hires a former Wal-Mart executive as president of retail

OfficeMax Inc. has appointed new executive vice president and president of retail. Michael J. Lewis takes over the job on May 2.
He reports to Ravi Saligram, president and CEO of the multichannel retailer, No. 7 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
Lewis comes from Wal-Mart Stores Inc., where from 2010 to early 2011 he worked as global head of the retailer’s merchandising center, overseeing brand management and supply chain programs. Between 2005 and 2010 he was president of the Midwest division for Wal-Mart, No. 6 in The Top 500 Guide.
Before Wal-Mart, Lewis was president of the retail division of the Nash Finch Co., a wholesale food distributor.
