Women’s apparel chain New York & Co. Inc. has a new head of e-commerce.
Online retail veteran Michelle Pearlman is the retailer’s new chief marketing officer and executive vice president of e-commerce. She’s no stranger to the company, having been on its board of directors since May 2011. New York & Co. is No. 217 in the Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide.
Pearlman brings to her new role an extensive amount of retail experience. She was executive vice president of e-commerce and direct marketing at Ann Inc. Most recently, she has worked as a senior adviser at private equity firm Irving Place Capital, which invested in New York & Co. in 2002.
“Under Michelle’s leadership, we expect to more fully capitalize on New York & Co.’s differentiation in specialty retail by elevating our key assets--exclusive merchandise, sub-brands and celebrity partnerships--while furthering our strength in e-commerce,” said CEO Greg Scott.
