Social media skills helped an executive gain a promotion at footwear manufacturer Crocs Inc.
The company, No. 240 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500 Guide, promoted footwear industry veteran Terence Reilly to chief marketing officer from vice president of global marketing. Prior to joining Crocs in 2013, Reilly served as vice president of marketing at Famous Footwear. Famous Footwear is owned by Brown Shoe Co. (No. 204).
Crocs CEO Gregg Ribatt cited the recent success of the #FindYourFun marketing campaign as a primary reason for Reilly’s promotion. “Terence's leadership of Crocs' #FindYourFun campaign has been a critical component of our strategic transformation plans for the future,” he said.
Reilly’s new title marks the second change to Crocs’ executive suite in the past two weeks. Crocs announced Sept. 8 that chief financial officer Jeff Lasher would be leaving the company to join boating supplies retailer West Marine Products (No. 354) in the same capacity. Lasher, who had been with Crocs since 2009, starts in November at West Marine.
Through the first half of fiscal 2015, Crocs has done $55.0 million in global online sales, up 8.5% from $50.7 million during the same time last year.
