E-retailer 1-800 Contacts has a new marketing chief

Online retailer 1-800 Contacts Inc. has hired Tim Roush as its chief marketing officer.
He comes from Creta Farms USA, where since January 2011 he was CEO of the seller of meats and deli products, according to his LinkedIn Profile. Creta Farms is part of Creta Farms SA, based on the Greek island of Crete. Before that, Roush was business unit general manager, lunch and dinner brands, for Sara Lee Corp. He also has held management and executive jobs at General Motors Co. and The Procter & Gamble Co.
1-800 Contacts Inc. is No. 75 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
“We have a significant opportunity to attract new customers to our 1-800 Contacts and Glasses.com brands,” says Brian Bethers, president of 1-800 Contacts. “Tim’s leadership, experience and success in corporate strategy and brand marketing will help position us for continued growth.”
1-800 Contacts is a subsidiary of WellPoint Inc., a health insurer that bought the e-retailer in 2012. The web merchant had Internet Retailer-estimated sales of $332 million in 2011, an 18.6% jump from an estimated $280 million a year earlier, according to the latest edition of the Top 500 Guide.
