Another web-only retailer will open physical stores

May 19, 2015 05:00 PM is looking to expand beyond its web-only retailing roots and open stores near its Miami headquarters. Taking the first step in that direction the retailer of health supplements, organic foods, beauty products and pet products has created and filled a new position: director of emerging channels.

John Tsokos is filling the new role and working to develop one or more stores in the next six to eight months, says PureFormulas chief marketing officer Daniel Moure. “His sound understanding of emerging technologies and their potential for monetization will help us grow revenue across existing channels and new ones alike,” Moure says.

Tsokos will oversee marketing agency relationships and develop new revenue-generating partnerships for, No. 401 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500 Guide, Moure says.

Prior to joining PureFormulas, Tsokos was director of marketing at Univision Communications Inc. for eight years, where he was responsible for developing strategy and the management and execution of programs across multiple devices and platforms for telecom partners and major brands, including AT&T, Procter & Gamble, Anheuser-Busch and Wal-Mart Stores, Moure says. claims 400,000 active customers and offers free shipping on more than 40,000 products. joins other Top 500 web-only retailers who have branched out into stores, including Birchbox Inc.
